The alcohols used in Beauty Locks were selected by Dr. Anna so they DO NOT dry out your hair. These types of alcohols, Cetearyl Alcohol (cetyl & stearyl) are found in cosmetics because they are fatty alcohols, and do not have the same effect on the hair and skin as other alcohols due to their chemical structure, they hold ingredients together, (known as an emulsifier.) Cetearyl alcohol’s makeup allows fatty alcohols to trap water and provides a soothing, moisturizing feeling (known as an emollient).
