I am allergic to nuts. What can I sub for nuts in the recipes?Updated a year ago

There are lots of easy subs you can make for just about any recipe and still have it compliant with Keto-Green 16. You may already know these subs, but I will list them just in case: coconut, flax, or other unsweetened non-dairy milk for almond milk; tahini, coconut butter (also called coconut manna), tiger nut butter, or sunflower butter for nut butter. Tahini is usually also the best substitute for raw cashews that are being used to make a dip or a sauce such as in the Keto-Green Crudites with Chipotle Cashew Dip (page 227 of Keto-Green 16), although pureed avocado might work well too. Tahini should also work for the Cardamom-Cashew Fat Bombs.

For a "breading," such as used for the Almond-Crusted Chicken Tenders with Cabbage Lime Slaw, ground sunflower seeds are probably the best choice, although I am pretty sure that hemp hearts will also work well. If you have questions about specific recipes that I haven't covered, please let me know and I will be happy to see if I can help you find something that will work for you!
